Busted: Motes of Water. Hotness: fire

As I mentioned in another thread, the prices of motes on the AH have obviously gone down with Blizzard increasing the drop frequency.

On my server, Motes of Fire are still selling for at least 3g each (sometimes more depending on the day). You can farm them at the fire elementals in the middle of Shadowmoon Valley in the fire lake area surrounding Gul'dan's Seat (or whatever it's called) in the middle of the zone. Mages or shamans with +fire resist totems/spells make it absolute cake. They have low armor and I regularly see mages and shamans 3-shotting them. They generally drop 2x motes about 1/3 of the time.

Kinda difficult for melees because the mobs often stand in pools of lava...

but anyways...thanks for the mtoe of fire farming spot... ove beenf arming mtoes of water north of shattrah.... the droprate got lowered bcuz they now drop essences =/

Well, thanks for posting this, I probably wont use it tho cause im a hunter, and my pet will get eaten by lava :confused:.

Just pull the elemental onto land with an arcane shot and then have your pet attack. Pretty simple to get around the laval pools.

Pretty cool spot, my guild uses this and I use the Altar of Shadows area to farm Primal Air.
