Also, you do not need slowfall. I just did that as a screw-up procedure. And I needed it :P

I think you just need some sort of speed booster, such as sprint (you have to actually jump from the spire) or a mount. Maaaybe travel form or Cheetah. Anyhoo.

yes, this has been posted before. if you have a lv 40 mount then you need slowfall if you mount to jump off
