Achievement: Deadliest Catch Exploit

For the achievement, "Deadliest Catch" (fish up Gaz'ranka in ZG) you can actually have multiple people get the achievement even though summoning (not killing) GR saves you to the instance.

The trick is to simply have another person fish up 5 fish, then use the lure. It won't summon the boss but fortunately for you it will still give the achievement.

there is an easy prequest to buy the lures from nat pagel that starts where you summon the fish boss there, its called 'Nat's measuring tape' or something like that. Just look around the little camp in the summoning spot for the measuring tape

No it wont.. The person who uses the lure, gets the achievement - no1 else. Ive done it loads of times, and its only the person why uses the lure.. No matter who fishes up the mudskunks.

i think what he is saying is that the person has to fish up the lure, but that he can still use them and receive the achievement even when the boss is dead.. that's atleast how i understood it

Achivement is done when the boss is summoned not when you use the lure

Doesn't work, achievement only goes for the people who used the lure.

Lure won't work because the boss can only be summoned once. Achievement counts when the boss actually spawns, not when you throw the lure.

If it does work, I'd like to add that neither of the items (fish or the lure) are bop, so you only need to have one person who's done the quest line

I can confirm this works. However, it's incredibly pointless so I didn't figure to post it in MMOwned. You can simply fish him up in any instance, old or new, so what is the point? Anyways, I asked the guildies for an invite to a raid group (not knowing they were saved to Zul'Gurub) and zoned into a fully cleared instance. I went and tried the fish boss not knowing he was dead and got the achievement.
