    Wouldn't wine be better?

    I'm not a linux user, but I've seen that it can be done.

    This is very well known. It works on almost all major Linux distros. It's a subscription based service with various payment options.

    Re: play wow on linux

    Cedega is probably the only "off the shelf" software solution for WoW. You can definitely get WINE to work, but you need to find a guide for your specific version of Linux unless you know the system well. There is also a specialized version of WINE that works with WoW by default, but like Cedega you need to pay for it.

    Re: play wow on linux

    If you're using the 64bit verision of your OS (if there is one) that may cause the problem.

    cedega = $$$ =
    im on 64bit suse 10.2 running wow in wine, no problems! if i can be any help just ask
    there are a few basic steps:
    make sure graphics card and 3d accel are working
    install wine
    copy wow cd's to drive
    in console type: wine path\to\copied\cds\installer.exe

    now you should get the normal installer! download the patches, install TBC and ur done! icon on your desktop even, if you want a real detailed guide check this out:
