A cheaper way to name change if your moving server

Hi

If you have decided to move server and you have a name you dont really like your current characters name (like stupidmage). Normally the process you'd go through is:

1) the transfer process to the new server
2) use the *chargeable* change name function

However if you create a level 1 character on the server you want to move to and call it the name you want when the move is completed you will be prompted to 'rename' your character as one already exists on the server.

Therefore you get what is in affect a free rename

Thanks for your feedback. I didnt know this the first time I did it and ended up paying twice. Only until I figured it out for myself ^_^

This is wrong, it is a repost and badly reposted at that, if you have a character with the same name as the character your transferring on your own account they will simply not allow you to transfer, not even with a rename, the character with same name has to be on somebody elses account.

That's why you get your friend to make a character and maybe level him a level or 2.

This is wrong, about 4 days ago i xfered on my hunter to another server, i made a character same name so i can change the name. Sooo it does work on same account

No. Your wrong. I have done this at least two times.


So lets say you create a new character on the server you want to move to, as the same name as the main your gonna transfer to.

You try to transfer. Does it say "No, you already have a character with the same name on the new server"

No.

What If you have levelled a char to level 30 and want to transfer your main to the level 30's realm? Do they say you cant? no. Do they say you have to delete the level 30? No.

Please dont quote things you have no experience with. Ok this may have not been an exploit but I was quoting from something I had done myself.

Secondly not everyone knew about this, I didn't the first time and im not stupid or dumb, just the thought didnt occour to me.

I was simply giving a heads up for people who never thought of it.

It works fine stfu people who have no idea.

I've done this multiple times on my own account, make a level 1 called the same as your main you're transferring and login in to it, after that you don't need to do anything, just log out and transfer it'll work fine. Like I said I've done it at least 10+ times.
