[How To] Crash your server

Hey all, this is my first ever glitch great site btw.

- 70 character

- The daily netherwing quest: "The Booterang: A Cure For The Common Worthless Peon"

- 300 riding (epic flyer)

So basically you have to fly around beating the hell out of peons with a booterang, to discipline them. However, your epic flying speed outflys the booterang. This way, you can have multiple booterangs following you. You can keep doing the quest EVEN IF you finish it, letting you have hundreds of booterangs following you, eventually lagging out the server.

Pretty useless, but funny.

FYI graphics like these are client side not server side. The only server you will crash is your computer/client.

Your compareing apples to oranges.

Your 2gigs max connection is small fries to Blizzards terrabyte connection. Try downloading/uploading movies on a irc server for a month on comcast etc.. and see what happens.

blizzard will kick you from the server if you use to much bandwith

there is only one way to crash your server, find 200 horde players and 200 alliance players and have some pvp fun

you can crash instance servers if too many players enter an instance at the same time, but actually this is the same

lol i am sry to tell u that the servers blizz hold can take about as much abuse as youtube which means a few hundred booterangs arent going to do anything except maybe lag u out or screw up ur framerate. think about it each of their servers can hold about 250,000 ppl. the fact is ur isp will close ur connection becuase u are hogging so much bandwidth way b4 the blizz server will crash

THIS DOES NOT WORK!

Wow is a Client/Server based MMORPG.. I.E. Some things are on there server while some are on your home PC, in other words only you see it happen. The booterang event is client (Your PC) side only, your booterangs following you around for hours has no impact on the blizzard servers since only you see them. While you may see some events you dont see all. It's a line of sight only system, you can test this by mounting on a epic flyer and flying in circles while a friend cast's lightning bolts or other colorfull spells. The spells will show up on your screen and theres, when you fly away and come back (Still with the spells following you) they will not see them but you will.

As a final note you obviously were not around for AQ40 grand opening (3000+ players in one zone and the servers for the most part were fine) Your 300+ Booterangs are not even going to touch there hardware.

It's possible that once you have all the booterangs following you, anyone else who comes close will disconnect for the same reason that having thousands of non-combat pets can disconnect people. Of course, this is assuming that spell trail effects like flying fireballs (or spinning boots) are persistently server side...

I have tried it my personal best is around 100 of them (I thought it was funny getting hit by that many when they caught up), as well as fireballs/LB's, but thanks.

Or you could just provide a video of you doing it and not theorycraft like you are now.

So calling people out on BS theorycraft makes me unwanted? There is a difference between contributing *Ideas* and contributing real exploits/glitch's. In the end I come here for the latter. You see that little rep thing next to my name is at 1 because I have no relevant exploits or glitchs. I don't waste the time of people by posting BS Ideas.

In the end though this is still a BS exploit and takes away from the forums as do the rest of the twits posting about GM cons and the such.
