i read a guide saying you vendor an item, say you dont have a buyback slot because of a UI and they will restore the item and then you will buy the other back and have two..

couldnt you just say an item you didnt have and say you vendored it and they "Restore" it for you?

This won't work.
Game Masters will check your logs to see what items you gained/deleted/vendored. If they see something unusual they just don't give you the item back.
