    In Game Quest Helper

    Hey Ownedcore,

    Near the end of Wotlk Blizzard added in a in game quest helper. This system they added in is pretty simple. When players pick up a quest it places a number on their map to show the players where the quest objective is located. On Arcemu or Trinity when players pickup a Blizzard quest this marker appears for almost all quests. My question is, how can I make the in can quest system work for custom quests?

    quest_poi handles the header data. poi ID is the ID for the objective of the quest you are doing.

    objIndex:

    -1 = talk to, or hand in once all objectives are complete.
    0 = kill objective 1
    1 = kill objective 2
    2 = kill objective 3
    4 = get item objective 1
    5 = get item objective 2
    ...
    And so on. Getting the right objective ID is important.

    mapID = the map the quest objective is on.
    mapAreaId = the zone ID the quest objective is on.
    floorID = the area ID the quest objective is on (leave as 0 if non-existent).

    unk3 = unknown, always 0.

    unk4 = the type. 1 = area, 3 = single point. It is possible that flags can be combined, such as using 6 for two areas for the same objective. I have not tested this.

    quest_poi_points:

    Questid, POI ID points to the one in quest_poi, X coord and then Y coord.

    When unk4 was set to 3 you just put 1 entry.
    When unk4 was set to 1, you have to put multiple coordinates for the same POI id. I generally use 4 for each corner to make a square sort of shape around the area. Each coordinate is a corner. Adding other multiples of entries for a single area can be buggy, so be careful and experiment.

    You can also use in-game Lua to temporarily fix this, but it is alot harder than the permanent method Stoneharry mentioned. Good luck.

    (P.S. That gif in your signature actually got me)
