    [Database] What would cause a DB to work on a pc and Fail on a vps?

    I've been working on a wow server for over a year now, and decided to actually place it on a VPS. I copied everything, decided I would just compile on a home pc, and just upload it. So far so good. I copy my databases over using sqlyog. No issues there. Installed VStudio, as some of the DLL's are required to run the logon and world exe's. Run the Logon.exe boots up fine. Run the World.exe, looks good, then crashes (during boot)....

    So the fun began from that first crash.

    I decided to try the base DB that came with arcemu's svn. Load that database, world.exe runs, *great*. I log in to the game, get to the character creation, notice the old accounts had no clothes on. *weird*. Hit login, bam "Login Failed".

    Okay, lets try updating all the databases... Same issue.

    So my question is, how can one instance of arcemu 3.3.2 run perfectly on one machine, and crash on the next one.

    * Same database
    * Same config, besides allowing for public access
    * Same maps, vmaps, dbc's.

    I just don't get it. Maybe someone knows a trick I don't know about converting this emulator to a 2k3 vps.

    EDIT:

    After reviewing my database after that last sqlyog copy, I noticed its crashing because nothing really exists. It said
    it completed successfully, but after checking just now, there were a lot of empty cells. Will keep posted if I discover
    a fix.

    UPDATE:

    Nope same thing. I'm at my wits end with this thing. Not really what I wanted to spend 2 days working on.

    You should import your database using the SQL command line.
    Code:
    mysql -u'root' -p'ponies' world < world.sql;
    this is a definate need
    I see not the need for the .NET framework. Unless applications such as SQLYog (euw) need these.

    To run the arcemu applications it requires the latest .Net framework.

    The latest came with the VS2010, I'm wondering if 2010 has something to do with it. I believe its framework 4.5.

    Also copied the database using sqldump and sqlyog has a feature to actually copy the database to another connection. So it basically just copies the database from my pc, to my vps. And it says successful on both occasions. But when I go to run the world.exe file, it gets to a certain point and crashes. Its also tried to leave dump files but they are unreadable. No data.

    Also maybe the ftp was incorrect and the dbc's are causing the crash?

    Like I said I'm baffled lol.

    EDIT:

    Turns out the .net framework is 3.0 after running a script in my browser. I have 2.0 and 3.0 installed.

    Installing 3.5 now. I'm hoping this makes a difference.

    It might not fix the problem, if it does not, then its quite possible its a database issue.

    What i would suggest:

    Dump your entire SQL, then set up the connection to your VPS's MySQL, and re execute, thats one of the main reasons for crashes.
