Server Core recommendations - Specific questions

After searching over multiple forums and going through a tremendous amount of posts similar to my own, I find myself left wanting. There was a lot of fan-boi bias for most of the answers regarding which emulator software to use and not a lot of factual statistics quoted. I'd appreciate any help you could give in clarifying which emulator core would best suit my needs:

    - Population 100-300 (500 max)
    - Database isn't important, as I'll be making mine from scratch for a specific RP purpose
    - Stability and feature completion is important. More important than just about anything else
    - A "common sense" way of handling the SQL database and scripting. Lua scripting would be wonderful and I hate the way ManGos has an ungodly level of SQL injections based on patch releases
    - Linux or Windows. Linux preferred, but not required
    - Compiling is fine. I don't need release binaries, just a dependable SVN/git
    - Ease of code updating (read: clean code, I'd prefer C or C++ but that isn't mandatory)

MaNGOS or TrinityCore2 defiantly. They are the most stable emulators and have the most features. They also have the cleanest code (best coding practices, ect). Also a very supportive community.

Arcemu used to be "the thing" some time back. What happened to them? I appreciate the input so far, but would love additional insight and personal experience from others.

ArcEmu had some bad leadership issues, and a lack of consistent and knowledgeable developers who could work on the project. Now the core is rouged with memory leaks, no support for the latest patch, lack of features, and nasty code.
