[Hamachi] Mac connecting to Windows Hamachi

I have recently setup my own private server and am using Hamachi in order to make it public. I done a test with another person to see if they could connect and it was succesfull. I am now trying to get my friend to connect to my Hamachi network but it is failing. He is on a Mac OSX Leopard and when he tries to use Hamachi it loads up and attempts to connect to the route server, takes a while and then fails.

If there is anyone that has a sollution to this problem and can help out then please message me or reply ASAP! Really desperate to play on pirvate server with my friends!

is he using hamachiX?
the website is here
if that doesn't work, could you be more specific? what exactly happens?
does he join the network and DC?
does it say his password is incorrect (passwords are always cAsE SeNsAtIvE)
or is he connected, but still can't log in to your server?

I will have to wait to talk to him but as far as I know he has the correct Hamachi and he can't connect to the actual Hamachi (network or server, whichever it is). We don't get to the point where he tried to connect to my netwrok because it won't even let him connect to Hamachi.


I will get confirmation from him but as far as i am aware he opens up Hamachi, tried to connect to Hamachi, tried to do all the probing and stuff and then fails, so he never actually connects. We are yet to get as far as trying to connect to my network.

It will ask for his password, then install a few command line bases.
You have to do this when you first install HamachiX, so you might not have known about it.

Hiya, i am the infamous friend of Thalamir, who is having the trouble, thought i would sign up so i can try and get this fixed =D

Okay so i followed your advice and your steps exactly.

When i try and log in, the UI freezes for about 15 seconds, and then i get a message saying

LOGIN FAILED
All attempts to login to the hamachi root server failed. You can try to increase the amount of retrys in the prefrences.

Not a very helpful error message really, anything i change in the preferences tab doesnt help.

The annoying thing is that I have had hamchi working on a network when i was in college. but now that i am at home, it doesnt seem to work. Do i need to forward any ports on my home router?

Hehe well i just discovered that the GUI version of Hamachi (HamachiX) does not actually work yet on OS X 10.5.x

(see the 6th post) but apparently there is a command line version! this is going to get tricky =P

Make sure that before you install this version, you need to uninstall the system components

help
-system configuration
-uninstall system components

then uninstall your version and use this version.


If this doesn't work, I'm all out of ideas and you'll need to use the command line based version
