Whats the best emulator for

Having a 60&70 raiding server with a lot of custom mobs and items. Like what has the most scripted bosses, also has to have the latest stuff ( t8.5 and whatnot ). I was going to use Trinitycore but then I kept hearing some bad things about it like no LUA scripting.. But like whats the difference between LUA and C++? Anyway I use to always use Ascent and only used Mangos once back in Pretbc.

Lua Pros
- Can be reloaded on the fly without restarting or recompiling server.
- Easier for new programmers to learn.

Lua Cons
- Inefficient & slow in comparison to C++ (and C#).
- Not very powerful.

C++/C# Pros
- Faster execution
- Vastly more powerful.

C++/C# Cons
- Cannot be reloaded on the fly
- Has to be recompiled, which can take awhile
- Can be hard to learn for someone whos never done programming before.


Overall? C++/C# is a vastly better solution if you're running a server. In my opinion, the only excuse to use Lua is if you only have a couple friends (4-5) on your server and efficiency doesn't matter.

I would use TrinityCore if you want everything to be scripted, they have one dedicated branch to 2.4.3 as well, and they keep it updated often.

I agree, they're the best right now. @OP: Anything bad you've heard is simply wrong, or if not i'd certainly like to hear about it.

Sounddead is correct, but in this case the same things apply to both because Lua is just terrible.
