    Arc-Emu adding Maps

Using this guide on Arcemu.org (sorry, gonna need account), I was starting to set up my own server from scratch. I got to the step where he says to use "ad.exe" to extract all of my maps into bin files. I ran it, and it had an error after Converting map ID 566. This is the NetherstormBG one. Any ideas?

Also, can someone tell me the difference between Arcemu, Magoes, and Ascent?

I am thinking of dropping Arcemu and starting all over with something else becausse community sucks. Its been 3-4 days since I posted and no help yet

the ad.exe, ill post you mine, in your wow folder do me a favour and run a repair.exe int he fodle,r this will fix your maps and ills end you an extractor.

the differenxce is arcemu is a rip from ascent, just like aspire and etc, in 2007 ascent broke up so people ripped it and carried on developing it.

    in terms of difference =
MaNGOS = databases and script are different, comamdns are different but just like you said with Arcemu, the community sucks, i think there are about 2 databses with it.

ascent = same as arcemu just arcemu is updated more, has more devs, more population is terms of community and most of the programs only use arcemu/aspire.

imo stick with arcemu otherwise you will regret it

p.s. forgot to add arcemu is better for a fun server, more stablerMangos seems to crash more with the fun scripts, not sure why.

alrighty, I just got your PM thanks. I am running an Ad.exe that I found and am almost to where it normally crashes. If it doesn't, then I'll repair and use yours.

Going through the guide I posted above, will your map extractor work? After I run repair.exe will that mess up my patch and all?

    EDIT:

Current one I just downloaded crashed on 566 again. Will repair and try your extractor.

When I repair what checks should I have?

    Reset all 3 check marks?
    Cashe, configurations, and custom interfaces?

Okay, I am running repair now, it will take a bit. As it finishes, I had one last question. Using the guide up there, he isn't very clear on what to do with the bin files. He says the following:

Now that's done you need to copy or move all the files in bin ยป release folder to another folder (whatever). Now you got your own server run arcemu-world and arcemu-logon.exe if you get any errors doing this leave and reply.

So, where do I put this? Also, I can't find my "trunk" folder at all. I have src, win, bin all inside the "SVN Checkout" arcemu folder thing I made. Is that the same?

EDIT: I am running your AD.exe now

    ok,

the part where eh says move them into a folder, dont its useless jsut saves you about 2 clicks when you want to find your server (its like a shortcut)

and the stuff you have in your folder is the trunk folder

the svn you used would have svn://arcemu.info/svn/trunk if im right? but its fine its all the same, when eh says trunk folder just refer to it as your arcemu folder

Yes you can just steal the map folder from a arcemu repack that should work.

Okay, well I tried that and it didn't work out for me. I am just reinstalling now. Do you think because I copied/pasted my original WoW folder onto my second hard drive to use as a private folder would have caused issue?
