Vanilla WoW - no tbc/wotlk

Good morning Mmowned.

Me and a friend had a long talk on msn tonight, about how ruined wow has been since they released there expansions tbc & wotlk. We talked about how nice it would be to play on a vanilla server again. But is there still people who play on such servers ? And is it possible from somewhere to get a vanilla svn source ? I would really enjoy to compile a vanilla server , and try out the good old wow again with some friends. Maybe make it public and scratch together some people.

I hope some people will reply this topic, and post some useful things.

I loved vanilla wow, but making that type of realm is useless unless there is people who actually want to play it.

I think there would be no problem, many people skipped wow from the day tbc came out, and many people hate the expansions and would really like to return to vanilla wow. Its weird that blizzard havent keept some of thoose servers up. They would score some xtra money, and more people would enjoy the game content.

Nope, people won't play regular vanilla or private vanilla wow servers. There just is no point...

If you do some research on some different wow related forums , you will notice alot of people who wants to play on a vanilla server again. I think theres people enough out there who cares for vanilla, they are somehow just too lazy to downgrade or look up some active servers with people on. Some advertising and a stable handy server, would collect a big hand of people together, who would enjoy it. So i think there is a point

Rofl yes I was politely owned. But you have to think about it. Vanilla WoW has been out for idk, 4 or 5 years. I don't think that many people are going to be rushing to go 40 man Onyxia when you can solo her with a 80 DK. Sure my guild does pre-tbc raids every now and then, but we wouldn't want the entire game to be vanilla.

I don't have experience in retail wow before TBC or WOTLK, but from this day on I'm thinking of making a Vanilla WoW server right now because I wanted to always make a unique private server.

VanillaWoW is just World of Warcraft Pre-TBC. Where the biggest raids are AQ40, MC, Onyxia, and BWL (Dunno if I forgot any). Where you need 40 people for each one. Max level is 60, no JC or Inscription. No Shattrath, no Outlands, no Dalaran or Northrend. There aren't DKs or flying mounts, and when the deathcharger mount still has a drop rate of .01%

Vanilla WoW as in 1.12.x and before? or the TBC and everything just have all that content disabled?
