[Guide/Tutorial] How to make a private server 2.3+ [PICTURES]

Okay First off we need Our server files.

In this guide we will use a nice basic repack that has a database installer, vendors, and custom npc teleporter on GM Island already made. :]

Repack Source #1: AC Web Ultimate Repack.exe

Locate your icon on your desktop that looks like this and double click, then install.

After That Is Done.Go to your folder which can be found in your C drive listed as AC Web Ultimate Repack.Open the Ascent Folder. Then open ascent-world.conf.

Delete any pieces that look like this.


After doing that you are done with that.We are going to make it so any client version can play on the server.Open up ascent-logonserver.conf.

Now that we can play with any patch after 2.1.1 we can get the maps.

Now we need the maps for your server.First download this map extractor.

Map Extractor: MEGAUPLOAD - The leading online storage and file delivery service

After you extract it place ad.exe and maps folder into your WoW directory. After that run ad.exe. Once that is done place the maps folder in your ascent folder.

Now lets make an account.

Open up ascent control panel and turn on MySQL.


After that is running, open up any database manager.
I will supply you with one.

Database Manager: http://www.navicat.com/download/navicat8_mysql_en.exe
(This is only a 30 day trial)

After that is installed open it up. You should still have MySQL running while doing this and whenever you want to access your database.

Log in with username:

root

and password:

ascent

It should look like this.


After that click on localhost, then click logon. on the look for a table called accounts. Open that up and enter the user name and pass you want. all the way at the end for flags put 8 for BC and leave blank for non. there should already be a admin account you can just swap the account name and pass with what you want and hit the check sign.
Now lvls of GM
3 = regular GM
az = Admin (More commands and should be used if you have access to the database AKA owner of server)

Now just work your way to your Ac web folder again. Make a shortcut for your restarter.

Put the shortcut on your desktop.
Now to run the server first open Ac control panel and turn on MySQL again if you closed it. Then open the restarter click logon wait for hooking signals, then hit ascent. wait for the text to stop.
Congratulations your server is running.

How to log on your server:
Open your WoW folder find realmlist.wtf. open it with notepad and make it look like this.


Save that now open wow and log on with the account you made and have fun.

type .commands
to get a list of GM commands while playing.

Everything else worked well but when I log in and goto select a realm, nothing comes up. Did I miss something or did you?
