Easy way to make a 2.1.X Server

Welcome to my guide on how to make a Antrix 2.1.X TBC Priate Server! Most other guides I've seen don't make much sense so I thought I'd make my own. There are many steps so read carefully. This guide also requies half a brain and if you do not understand it please do not flame. Now onto the guide.

1. Download the repack here for private and here for public and extract it somewhere on your computer

2. Find the MySQL Folder in the repack folder and run MySQL 4.1 server.exe.

3. Setting up MySQL:

• Select Typical Setup and click Next >
• Select Skip Sign-Up and then click Next >
• Click Install
• When that is done select Configure the MySQL Server now and click Finish

4. Configuring MySQL:

• Select Standard Configuration and click Next >
• Change the drop down box to say MySQL 4 and leave everything else how it is. Now click Next >
• Now you must choose a MySQL Password. YOU MUST REMEMBER THIS PASSWORD. When you have done this click Next >
• Now click Execute
• When ALL the boxes are checked, click Finish

5. Setting up Navicat:

• Open up the Navicat folder in the repack folder and open up setup. Now run navicat8_mysql_en.exe
• Configure your setup options and install it
• Now open up the Crack folder and copy the navicat.exe in there and replace the one in your Navicat folder with it.
• Now start up Navicat
• Now click the Connection tab up at the top.

6. Setting up your Connection:

• Make Connection Name whatever you want. I suggest Antrix
• Make Host name/IP address localhost
• Make Port 3306
• Make User name root
• Make Password what you chose in the setup of MySQL

7. Setting up your database:

• Open up you new connection, right click and select New Database... and name it Antrix
• Now right click on the Antrix database and select Execute Batch File...
• Now find the SQL Databases file in your repack and select antrix.sql
• Now it is creating you WHOLE database. This can take a while depending on your computer speed so eat lunch, go for a walk, play another game and come back in 20 minutes or so. It took me only about 10 minutes but I have a VERY fast computer. On my laptop it took me about 25 minutes.
• When there is a message saying: [Msg] Finished - 1181281 queries exectued successfully, click Close

8. Making an account:

• Open up your new Antrix database and select accounts
• Under login type your account name, under password type your password, under gm 3, banned 0 and flags 8. Now click the check mark at the bottom and close that window but leave Navicat open

9. Setting up Hamachi (Only for public servers):

• Open up the Hamachi folder in the repack and run HamachiSetup-1.0.2.2-en.exe
• Configure the install as you like and when it is done start up hamachi.exe
• Configure Hamachi and when you are done click the triangle button in the bottom right and select Create a new network
• Name the newtwork and give it a password (optional). When you are done click Create
• Open up realms.conf, logonserver.conf and antrix.conf (open with notepad) in the server files folder and replace anything that says hamachi IP with the numbers at the top of your hamachi window
• Save and close the files
• If you want a friend to join get them to change their realmlist.wtf to set realmlist <your hamachi IP here> and download Hamachi and join your network

10. Adding Additional Realms:

• Open up realms.conf in the Server Files folder with any text editor.
• Scroll down to where it says RealmCount and change the 1 to say however many realms you want.
• Copy this block of text to the bottom of your document (leave no spaces):

Realm#.Name = "My New Realm"
Realm#.Address = "127.0.0.1:8129"
Realm#.Icon = "Normal"
Realm#.Colour = 0
Realm#.Population = 2
Realm#.TimeZone = 1

• Change 127.0.0.1 to your hamachi IP if you are using it.
• You can rename this realm and your previous one by changing what is in the "" at the Realm#.Name
• Change the # to whatever realm number you are on.
• The possible values for Realm#.Icon are Normal, PVP, RP, and RPPVP.
• The possibel values for Realm#.Colour are 0(Normal), 1(PVP), 6(RP), and 8(RPPVP)

11. Updating your database (tier 6 etc.):

• Open up Navicat and click on the Antrix database and click execute batch file. Look for Antrix_Update.sql in the SQL Databases folder and select it
• Once it is done save the changes and leave Navicat open.

12. Starting up your server:

• Open the start menu choose All Programs->MySQL->MySQL Server 4.1-> MySQL Command Line Client. I reccomend making a desktop shortcut for this
• Now type in your MySQL password (the one you shouldn't forget) and press enter
• In you Antrix folder go into Server Files and then run logonserver.exe and antrix.exe. They are done when antrix.exe says Process priority adjusted to high. If they just flash and go away try doing the following:

- Open Navicat
- Double click the Antrix connection
- Open the database named Mysql
- Mark all the items in the Mysql database and drag them into the Antrix database

• Make sure MySQL Command Line Client, Hamachi (only for public servers), Antrix and Logon Server are still running
• Open up realmlist.wtf in your WoW folder and make shure it say set realmlist 127.0.0.1 or your Hamachi IP (only for public servers) and save that file. I suggest using notepad to open it
• If you made your MySQL pass something different then root open up logonserver.conf and antrix.conf and change any password that is root to your MySQL pass.

13. Open up WoW and login using the account you just made. It can take a few tries but if you're patient you will get in.

2 things:
1. when im done typing in the password in MSQL cmmd line client, do i close or leave it open.
2. when i open logonserver.exe and antrix.exe they both close after like two seconds.

keep mysql command line open. mke shure you dont have any other mysql servers running and to fix the flashing try doing the following:

• Open Navicat
• Double click the Antrix connection
• Open the database named Mysql and mark all the items in the Mysql database and drag them into the Antrix database

by mark do you mean select? if so i selected all tables in mysql database and dragged them to the antrix database, i then click copy here (structure and data). and its still flashing.

That should've worked. are you shure you still have Navicat, MySQL Command Line Client, Hamachi (only for public servers), Antrix and Logon Server still running? Also try starting antrix.exe before logonserver.exe and vice-versa. I don't think you are using my repack because I haven't posted the link yet...you're server probably isn't working because you haven't configured the .conf files which are in your server files folder. Try doing this:

...We will start with antrix.conf. Open up this file in notepad and change it to look like this.




Now open Logonserver.conf and make it look like this.




Scroll wayyy down and look for Maxclientbuild and set the Bottom numbers to 6999




Now open realms.conf, theres not a whole lot to edit in here accept you can edit your realm name and popularity and stuff. Like mine...

I suggest keeping everything the same as in the picture but feel free to change the realm name but keep the quotes. I quoted from Xeph because I was too lazy to write it out+he has good pics.

im using the repack that comes with everything and its in a rar file and called "2.1.0 server" already configured them, and i had everything running, but antrix and logonserver don't stay open for more than a second. but i have tried them both in diff orders.
edit: sorry for crappy typing on my laptop.
double edit: that guide you quoted is the one i followed before this.

Is MySQL running? make sure you only have a 4.1 MySQL server running+installed.

also are you shure you have the right numbers as the hamachi ones and the other ones as the 127.0.0.1?

you need to put it in your wow folder and then run it. the level with wow.exe

why don't you ask this in his thread?

I downloaded the repack but lost it in winRar somewhere....where would i find it?
