[Guide] Setting up 2dgreengiant / Chrispee's Ultiamte Ascent Repack

Hello people of MMOwned
I have notice in the Thread "2dgreengiant/Chrispee's ultiamte ascent repack"
There has been alot of Questions, so here is how to set it all up


First of all go here and download 2dgreengiant/Chrispee's ultiamte ascent repack

And then next Download the Extras by me \/

Download > Extras for 2dgreengiants Repack

In it it has a
Server Restarter
Tier 7 Armor and Weapons by Cid
Tier 7 Weapons by me (Illidan1)
2 GM scripts for the GM Island Guards

Ok so you just Downloaded the Repack and you have a Thing looking like this
on your Desktop or were every your saved it

Ok now Right click it and press Open or Double click it, Or target it and press
Enter and then a Pop up box will come up that looks like this \/



Use Browse button to select the destination folder from the folders tree. It can be also entered manually

Press Install button to start extraction.

Press Install button to start extraction.

When it is done it will be in the Folder that you Selected to put it in \/



Ok now there is a folder in There called "Greengiant and chrispee's ascent repack"
Copy that and put it into your "C:\"

Once you have done that Open it up And go into the folder called "Ascent"
It will be in the Folder like this "C:\Greengiant and chrispee's ascent repack\Ascent"

Once in there Put the Application "Ascent Server Restarter" In there
And then you are nearly done

Config time!
Ascent

Go into the Folder called "Ascent" and open the Text Document Called "ascent"
And open it with a Note Pad

Next in there you will see all your Server Settings, Like Max Level Xp rate
drop rate Etc, Looks like this

        ShowGMInWhoList = "1"
        MapUnloadTime="0">

All you really need to change there is the

LevelCap = "60"
Expansion1LevelCap = "70"

And

Motd = "No Motd."

In the "LevelCap = "60" = Change that to the max level
You wont for some one who is on your Server Without the Expansion

And for "Expansion1LevelCap = "70", = Change that to
The max level you wont for Players on your Server With the Expansion

And now the Rates, scroll down and find the Part that looks like this \/

It is kind easy to know what you need to put in there
And you can just look up at the Description of what it is for
Above all of that Text

Go to File and save or just Exit and Save or Ctrl + S And exit

Logon Server

Ok now you go into your Ascent Folder and find the Text Document
Called " logonserver " And open it with a note pad

Ok there is a few things you need to do in hear and here they are

First Find the part that looks like this \/

# Account Refresh Time

#    This controls on which time interval accounts gets 
#    refreshed. (In seconds)
#    Default = 600
#

<Rates AccountRefresh = "600">

And change the Number 600 to 60 So when some one makes an account it will
Reload your Logonserver straight away Instead of you doing it manually

Ok next find the Part in the Config that looks like this \/

<Client MinBuild = "6739"
        MaxBuild = "7349">

In the text were it is Red text 7349 change it to 9999 So every One above patch 6739 can Connect to your Server

And in the Blue text 6739 Change it to what every
You wont the Lowest patch to be for your Server

Go to File and save or just Exit and Save or Ctrl + S And exit

Realms Config

Ok now go into your Ascent folder and open the Text Document
Called "realms" and open it with a Note Pad

Ok first you will need to find this part of the Config \/

<LogonServer Address = "Server Ip"
             Port = "8093"
             Name = "logon"
             RealmCount = "1">

In the text in red "Server Ip" You have to change it to
The Ip of your Server Vai Hamachi IP, Dyn Dns IP or Your Normal
Computer IP

And then find the next part in the Config That looks like this \/

<Realm1 Name = "Server Name"
        Address = "Server IP:8129"
        Icon = "Normal"
        Colour = "1"
        Population = "1.0"
        TimeZone = "1">

First in the Part in Blue "Server Name" Change
That to the Name of your Server That you wont it to be


In the text in red "Server Ip" You have to change it to
The Ip of your Server Vai Hamachi IP, Dyn Dns IP or Your Normal
Computer IP

How to start the Server


1) Click 'MySQL 1'

2) Go into Ascent Folder and Click "Ascent Server Restarter"

4) Click the Buttons " Logonserver" and "Ascent" on the Restarter

3) go into your wow directory and cchange in the realmlist.wtf us.logon.worldofwarcraft.com to 127.0.0.1

4) start wow and login using the username and password admin

(this can be changed using Navicat or Sqlyog)

Uh, when I get to the character creation page it says it's logging on but it just keeps openning the realm list...

Here are a few things that you can add to the guide if you would like.. I see alot of these questions coming up and it would be nice to have everything in one place.. (I wont post links or anything if you want to add this stuff you can put it where you like in your guide, i was going to post a guide that included everything you said as well as the stuff I am adding but, meh thats kinda a repost)

First
1. Download Mysql (with instructions on setup)

2. Download Navicat/Sqlyog (with instructions on setup)

3. When you click on mysql1 it creates the database automatically nothing else you have to do no sql dump

4. If you ever drop the database for any reason you need to completely delete the 2dgreengiant / Chrispee's Ultiamte Ascent Repack folder and contents from your c:/drive otherwise it will not recreate the database..

5. How to generate map's and that you have to put those in the ascent folder

6. How to add accounts in navicat/sqlyog (or change the admin/admin account.

Edit: and if you have mysql server currently running on your pc you need to stop the service in services.msc before you run mysql1 :P

i have a problem does anyone know why whenever i use ascent i open mysql and for some reason it comes up as cant find errmsg and i don't know why it never works it cant find it can anyone help me?

So far, 2d says 2.2.3, but I have not seen anyone else's report on the new patch today.

Excellent repack and guide. Can't thank you enough.
There is only two things that's been bugging me, and that is; every time i put on another piece of equipment i port to Stormwind. what the hell?
And everytime I use the ".recall port ....." command I end up under ground, and an invisible stormwind guard attacks me and kills me. Dunno if any of you know what it could be caused by, but it seems to me like it's an error connected to each other... And again, thank you for you hard work!

Just to let everyone know, I just tried it with 2.3 and I successfully logged in a made a char... as for playing it I have yet to test it. Nice job so far!

Yeah, all you have to do is find this in Logonserver.conf

Just change xxxx to 8000 or higher. Should be able to work with 2.3
