[Mini-Tutorial] How many pjs my server hold?

People are always wondering how many people endure their computer, because they want to open a server or something. Since there is no guide to how to calculate this as I have done. Look is very simple.

I really ought to forget the ram of your computer, processor, graphics card (which has nothing to do at all) ... Any computer of the present day or having 5 to 8 years, can support a server either handles or arcemu, the case is how many people support you connect to it, and this is given by the network connection you have.

To do this we will see how many connections we have to do this page, wait for scan on where we are and we give "Begin".

I will upload the data and downstream. Well, pasais full speed downhill, which really interests us is the upload speed.

I will give in Mb/s I've found for example 0.24 Mbps.
Now comes the most simple calculation.

The theoretical connection is needed to keep one player is 20kbps (the same lieis do not hehe).
To calculate the theoretical number of players who can stand easily use the following equation:

    Code:
    Upload speed / (divided) 0.04
    Example: I have 1mb upload / 0.04 = 25 players

Now we have more real value by applying a percentage as in the previous value is the maximum supported, giving us besides lag and other issues for which some connection is lost. Apply:

    Code:
theoretical number of players X 0.75
    Example: 25 X 0.75 = I stand 19 players without lag.

This contribution is a simple but hopefully will serve to calculate about how much could bear.

Hey thats a good mathmatik example to know how much players everyone of us can have on his server
I know much p-server wehre its very very laging on it if there are about 50 players and that is more than bad for the players on the server....
So it is better to have an root-server with an 10 MB upload connection or more to have an realy good connection for all the players
