    This is epic! Many thanks.
Is there any reason why it's 10.6 only? Does it use some core services not available in 1.5.*?

Gief me ur real name so I can marry u pls
Doing it now, downloading all the stuff. Read many guides + tried many mappacks to get a private server working on my mac, always getting one step closer but to no avail. If this works....

Whats the difference between mangos and arcemu anyway?

As I expected, its not working Got as far as creating a new connection. It gives me the option between MySQL, Oracle and PosgreSQL. I cliked MySQL and typed
    private (name doesnt matter, right?
Host name / IP address: localhost and 127.0.0.1, neither worked
    Port: default (3306)
    User name: root
    Password: root

Test connection: can't connect to mysql server on '127.0.0.1' (61)

    Anyone know why?

The MacPack it's self won't install on 1.5.*. I'll see if I can make a workaround. I can't imagine any valid reason why it shouldn't work.

Ok I have 1.6 (Snow Leopard) I'll try this out and tell you guys the outcome...

InstallationEverything Went perfect on installation. There should be a Un-Installer or something, becuase 1 gb is hard to delete.

    Running MAMP

Ok, Looking for mamp, Can't find it. In the Applications folder, Nothing, Spolight, Nothing, Will be finding it...
I quit looking for it and I'm just going to download it manually.

I Quit. Takes too much time do download and install navicat and Mamp and all that.

Sorry guys, It's just not worth the time, I have to go to work in a 10 minutes. Someone can retrace my steps if you want.

I will be retracing your steps right now. I am also on snow leopard, it seemed to do a clean install just as you said but no mamp in sight so i downloaded it myself.

Also Navicat lite was either not installed or not included.

When setting up the new connect i had to change the port to 8889 instead of the default in order to connect.

Database had nothing in it besides default mysql database, by no surprise the realm and world weren't even the same file, and the ons that were there did not work.

Might want to redo this guide mate, because this looks like it isn't working for snow leopard as you said it would.

Does anyone know where to get MacPack? Or maybe someone has an updated guide for this? This one is a bit old.
