Im sure there have been guides to this before, but i searched and came up empty handed.
Now we all know if you're new and in some cases old to the custom server game, using a repack is the easiest way to host a server. Yet sometimes people still want to keep things semi updated.
I have authored 12 steps to update the databse in a repack!
The example I am using is hearthstone but can be modified easily for any emu as the steps are the same just filenames are different
Okie dokie so
1) Goto RivalDB | Home and click on the "Get RDB" link
a) Download the .sql file under changesets and the database.rar under World
2) Start MySQl
3) Start Navicat and log into SQl, your hostname ip is 127.0.0.1 user is root pass is root and port is 3306
4) Once logged in you should see a folder on the left either called world or heartstone-world, right click it and delete it
5) Right click under the other folders and goto "New Database..." name it whatever you like, i named mine rivalworld, dont worry about the other 2 boxes just click ok
6) Unpack the Database.rar into a folder, doesnt matter which just know where it is
7) Back in navicat double click your new world folder to open it, then in the big empty plane on the right, right click and select "execute batch file"
In this window, click the ... next to the text bar select the database.sql file you just unpacked, click ok and let this run, it could take some time
9) follow steps 7 and 8 to use the changeset.sql file you downloaded
10) Goto File>Close Connection to ensure everything is closed and saved, exit navicat alltogether
11) Shutdown MySQL and Apache
12) Goto your heartstone folder and open heartstone-world.conf in notepad, look for the following line
<WorldDatabase Hostname = "localhost" Username = "root" Password = "root" Name = "world" Port = "3306" Type = "1">
Name = "World" is what you want to change
Change it to whatever you named the new folder in SQL
EG: i would change mine to Name = "Rivalworld"
13) Save and close notepad
I recommend restarting your comp you dont have to
14) Launch SQL and Apache, you should be set!
I think I gave the most detailed instructions i could, if you get stuck...holla
comment rate appreciate! =)
