separate WoW clients on one machine

Hi, sorry if this is a stupid question that has been answered elswhere.

I want to set up a private server on my own machine. I have read that this is possible, but if I modify my WoW files, I cannot safely play the retail game can I?
so I think I need to have 2 separate WoW clients running on my machine in order to play and edit on the private server.
I mean, I want to do model edits and stuff like that.

    EDIT:
I just noticed it says 'no questions here'.. I totally apologise for my oversight, can I please get moved to the correct forum?

    Wrong section.
You can't have 2 WoWs installed in one computer. I would say that if you have a retail account then you should beware of blizzard. My account got suspended for a week becous i runned my own private server.

You could probably use VMware but I wouldn't use VMware to play on Games. You could try it, its just that sometimes the Video Card isn't good and you can't play on high graphic games. I haven't tested it on games and I'm not even sure if you can multi play video games. Just try it out.

    EDIT:

    Here's the website: VMware

Copy the WoW Directory to a diffrent part of your hardrive (WoW will use up about 20GB of space but meh) edit the realmlist there and you can have both running.
