Create a Cross-Faction Party on Outland, may work on classic
Cross-Faction Party
The title speaks for itself.
How to do it?
Log in a faction player. your main or any character, as well as a character you will be using for faction change (can be a fresh toon).
- Make sure the characters are all in the same party.
- Log out/or Alt+F4 the toon you will faction change, make sure the toon is still in party.
- Be logged out entirely, close wow.exe and keep the other guy logged in and online.
- Have the ability to Faction Change, be it free or whatever it is they have you pay for to do this.
- Faction change your toon.
- Log back in and you should still be in the party.
- Now you have one alliance and one horde in group.
How to maintain Party
Don't want to lose your party? No problem. Simply log in a player of either faction, or a fresh toon (in order to invite someone of a faction simply change party leader to a random ally or horde) and invite them into group. The random toon can act as a placeholder to maintain the group, but there has to be at least 1 ally and 1 horde if you want to continue inviting either toons in the group otherwise you have to do the process again.
There is no restrictions for party leader, for ally can shift lead to another ally or horde, vice versa.
the only viable way to communicate may be through discord, or if you are cool with someone they can just call you.... If you got buddies like that.
You can rotate players in and out of party, even re-invite yourself back into the secret party of yours.
Pros:
- Can share loot, even roll, need, greed, etc.
- Target will appear as Friendly.
- Can summon players of either faction since they're in party.
- Can enter the same instance, possibly Arena/BG, haven't tried it.
- Can cover someone if they are being ganked or killed by enemy player, or do some reconnaissance stuff.
- Enemy player in group can open doors and chests for you to enter or loot.
- You are able to form.... wink... wink... a guild on some xpacs.
Cons:
- Cannot speak with each other
- Cannot heal/res other players (probably AoE heals and as for ressing you have to hack [retro style] for that to work)
- AoE attacks can cause frienemy's pet to attack you
- Special Buffs only work on those of your faction
- Can't trade with each other.... But didn't try it to some extent
- Quest sharing.... Possible works, haven't tried it, if anything, it may push a share to those of the same faction OR same quest, it may or may not work.
- Obviously it won't have you protected in enemy cities.
Only tested this for like.... 15-30 minutes so if you get some time to do it yourself, have fun.
This works for later to recent xpacs but it is a bit more complicated so I am taking it easy for tbc, moreover, this may work on other classic and old school servers.
That being said... The Red Warden approves.
I am known as The Red Warden, the exploiter and formerly part of the original 8.
