Whoever has done the "broken armor/Meta gem stacking" trick knows that it can be a little time-consuming to click and swap and swap and click the items all the time until your desired stat is high enough. So I thought I'd show you how I do it, because this way, you can go AFK and have a coffee while your character is stacking up his stats.
1.) Put your items on buttons 1-4 of your main action bar in this order: 1) broken item, e.g. chest, 2) helmet with Meta gem, 3) some other chest, 4) some other helmet. Like this:
2.) Get a program that can record mouse-clicks and/or keystrokes. I use Mouse Recorder Pro, but others will work, too. Screenshot:
3.) Set the program to record and hit "1", "2", "3", "4" on your keyboard. Stop recording (Mouse Recorder can be stopped by pressing F12).
4.) Now set the repetitions to 200 or whatever. (In Mouse Recorder, this is done via the strange green clock icon at the bottom.) Press "Play" and go AFK! When you come back, your Meta gem will be stacked up.
A few notes:
- You must not press the buttons too fast, otherwise the server lag might confuse things and it might take longer than necessary to stack up.
- If you like, you can download and use my already finished Mouse Recorder script: File-Upload.net - Meta_gem_stacking.mrs
- You can manually edit the delay times and other stuff in Mouse Recorder by pressing the little button with the red lines.
- Of course you can also click the buttons with your mouse and record these clicks instead of pressing 1-4. I just like it better this way.
- And of course you can also put your items on other buttons/bars and click/record those. It doesn't have to be 1-4 on the main bar.
Have fun!
[Edit]: AFAIK, this works on TrinityCore 2, if the your server's devs haven't fixed it manually.
[Edit2]: Make sure that your second helmet (the one on button 4) does not have a meta gem! Otherwise that one will stack downwards! I noticed that when I used a +sta socketed helmet and it "stacked" down until I reached my base HP, which was like 2800 or so. ^^
