Issue with applying patch-4.mpq

I am trying to make some minor spell changes to my private server (which uses Mangos).

Using WoW Spell Editor I changed the spell_template so that Aspect of the Beast would provide some melee attack power. I also changed the spell description and tooltip to match this change.

I then exported it as a dbc and placed it in data\5875\dbc\spell.dbc

I then exported it as patch-4.mpq and placed it in the wow 1.12\client\data

Loading up the server, the spell properly provides the melee attack power (which appears in the character info)- BUT it does not visually show the changes to the spell description and tooltip

Strangely, the the mpq and the dbc files looks good, and show the text changes when I look therein

I made sure no other mpq viewed/editor was running; I restarted the computer; removed by WDB folder; reinstalled/downloaded a WoW 1.12 client; renamed the mpq file to -A, -4, etc.

Any ideas why it isn't working? At this rate, will redownload Mangos, even though the problem should be client side

The file structure in patch-4.mpq needs to be 'DBFilesClient\spell.dbc`
