So after having seen people complain that the new database from silvermoon repack v7 was a lot for their computer , I though to myself ;
" So with an extra 10 -13 areas added with small go objects, what will happen when a whole other expansion will have to be emulated?"
Think of it, the Wrath of the Lich King is supposed to be a MAJOR change from the last expansion, WoW wants to change that questing and grinding is the only way to lvl , apparently the quests will be MUCH different. This is all stuff that has to be scripted inside ascent!
So what who cares?Wrong.... This will mean ascent will take up more memory.
Now that's only stuff that has to be scripted. Once ascent is taking up much more RAM , your computer has to be good enough to hold all the new go's Wrath of The Lich King brought, and I'm not talking about stacked tables, I'm talking about huge buildings, new go's and then small go's with at least another thousand spawned.
I'm not 100% sure of this, but it sure sounds like it won't reduce the memory usage my ascent...
I really think that not everybody will be able to host a wow server any more when Wrath of the Lich King is even 1/2 scripted. Anybody today with a Pentium 4 can just download ascent and run it smoothly, when this comes out.... i don't think Pentium 4 users will be running ascent smoothly at all...
Imagine spawning Stormwind 10 times in your server all together? Only the people who already own good machines and own a server with many people and get good amounts of donations will live, the rest won;t cash out money just to emulate WoW.
Another thing, apart from the memory usage and computer needed, when patch 2.3.0 came out with Zul aman, it tooks about 2 weeks to get it fully spawned.... How long do you think it's going to emulate a whole other expansion :P
Good luck c++ scripters....
