A basic, spawned, 2.3.X server? where?

Ok I have spent the last 3 hours searching thread after thread looking for one thing.
I want to make an Ascent server, I have MySQL, but apparently I need a db (database? for the scripts? Hey I'm totally new all abbreviations are going over my head) and a repack.
So I have seen tons of repacks, and Spartan's repack looks cool but for my first serer to test GM powers and work on making my own custom world I want a basic, working, scripted server. Basically the most blizzlike server I can get.

I don't know how to do this, perhaps I don;t need a repack for that? Heck I don;t know what I am doing. All I know is I need to make a server and have something script the spawns/quests/instances.
Hey if there is such a basic guide, if I am totally messed up and its right in front of my eyes let me know please lol.

I know you guys are awesome at this stuff, so here I am a newb willing to learn, that IS at least a quarter of what this site is about, people coming to learn not to already know? Any who any help here would be AWSOME* ^_- Thanks!

NCDB is, without a doubt, the most Blizzlike and clean database out there.

ok cool so my idea was almost right thanks for clearing up which is which DeathStrong. Seethe and Wareagle I found NCDB on one of Gastricpenguin posts (won't let me post link but its tittle is "[Latest] Ascent Compiles and Extras") though which version I need I have not a clue.

Secondly now I have two pieces (after figuring out which version of NCDB, guessin 1103? do I need any of the Acent versions above that? or is it simply a different DB?) Mysql and the NCDataBase, what next.

I am starring at puzzle pieces having never seen the puzzle picture, and some of the pieces are missing, wish I had seen one working so I could look less silly lol.

If you're new to Emulation, Use AC-Webs

If you want to learn how to compile your own server and databases, Use the search function.
