how to stop mulitple accounts from being created

hey I just set up my new website & on my old website in the codes it had something that would block someones Ip address from creating mulitple accounts I want to do this again but I cant find anything about it & I'm not sure If i could copy the old code & paste it into my scripts and have it work & besides that what file would I place it in

so if someone could help out on where I can find this code & how I can install it would really help out

& i have searched the post with no results

this was the code from the old website

$lock_acc=1; // Lock created account to IP address (1 - on, 0 - off)

$lock_reg=1; // Registration only one (or more) account from one IP address
// 0 - not limit, 1 - one acc, 2 - two acc, etc...

can I just paste this in the scripts???

Well, if that code is in your current website or registration page which it should be, it has it in every code, edit it.

If not maybe you could try and copy the script but first which registration page are you using?

Spora is the most common. Why don't you just get that again and add it to your website, it is the simplest way!

ok I tryed to post that little piece of code but it didnt work I am using EthernalQ's Website(remade by Szela_93) v4 Ultimate the new 1 with the updates to it & now as my create account page I am usin SPORA (Simple Page Of Registration For Accounts) with in my website I just need to create a back button so after you make your account you can go back into the website

well I have been learning all the html& scripting & sql editing within minutes or a day or so its stupid little simple stuff that gives me problems but I work my way around quickly & painfully i dont think it would bother me as much if I get some sleep every once & awhile but the long hours editing sql & php is giving me carpal tunnel syndrome & my hands hurt badly
