[request] +rep for your help... Ascent problem

k, so i recently got a new computer and I was trying to host a server on it. I got everything loaded and fired up ascent.

The first time It loaded very slow... and froze.

The second time (new db and core) it said that it was missing a .dll File ( I am sorry I cant remember the name of it)
So I downloaded the dll and Installed it. The error still came up..

(new db and core) It froze at this spot-

I just installed the new .net framework (might need it for ascent?) --- thought that might be a problem..

I know it isnt the lack of computer performance.

I was thinking since I just installed windows I might not have up to date stuff (however I just updated xp..)

This isnt my first time with putting a server up and running it. (btw)

Anyways Thanks for taking a look and +Rep to whoever can solve this-I am sure it is pretty simple.

It must be a database issue, unless it says something about an access violation

It's most likely a database issue, I just bought a computer specifically to run my wow server off of, Old Dell Laptop, Fresh windows XP worked flawlessly.

The norwegian DB is a bigger, customised database. I had freezing problems with bigger DBs too until I upgraded my machine.

Try one of the basic NCDB databases, and the latest core, and see if you can get them running. At least that way you will know you have everything installed and working fine.

Make sure that the reason is because the database is heavier, click the compiles link on my signature and download that

Logon settings, Make sure they're all correct with your SQL server settings (root, password, et'cetra) check with your Ascent settings too.
