Isn't it perfectly safe for your server to update the ascent ?

Well.. when i open up ADE ( Ascent Database Editor ) 1.0.4 it says that i should update my Database Structure manually ( I'm guessing it's the ascent.. but not sure though ).
Is it totally safe to update to a different ascent rev ?
Shouldn't i just save my .conf files somewhere else and then restore them when I've updated.

And how can you know if your ascent rev is not the latest or not ?

EDIT: And what if it is the database ? how can i update my database ? :S
Doesn't that mean everything custom about my server ( spitfire ) will be gone ?

Isn't it perfectly safe for your server to update the ascent ?

Hmmmmm. Weird choice of were words go but ill do my best..
    1. Wrong! You database is a bunch of SQL files, to get to them download SQLyog or navicat, open them and double click your connection then scent and on the right side you will see a bunch of files, thats your database

    2. No updating your database will not necessarily delete everything. there are 2 ways to do this
-The easy way - Will delete all custom Stuff
-The way where you have to do something - Won't
The easy way is Download NCDB and run the tool
Harder way is to get SVN use it to download ascent, compile it and find BRANCHES > 2_4 Stable > SQL > Updates and add all that stuff in updates folder to your database

latest DB structures are on ascent SVN;.. for the latest databases you have to go to the NCDB svn

Umm, What do you need to know?
You should just learn to use Skills in SQL instead of Database editor Tool
    You will be more Experienced

    Yeah i can use both.

    But i like ADE allot.
And if there was a way to make it bug free, i would be able to fix allot of things in such a little amount of time.

But if i update my database won't all my custom things be gone ?

Well some of the sql updates you sent me worked though.
But most of the errors were duplicate errors like "theres already a table called charters" or "duplicate colum dbinfo1" or something
