    How to run?

Trying to get this repack running: Alpha-WoW Emulator (Alpha 0.5.3)

it has a readme and you need to have mysql and run a certain sql script. how would i go about this? There seems to be many different versions of mysql. have heard i need to use msql development, others say use the gui. Not entirely sure what would be the easiest way to run this. any help?

Links appreciated and any other things i should know for running a repack?

Well, considering that it says .NET 4.6.1 (which was Aug 2, 2016) I would assume that MySQL from 2016 (5.7) would work fine.

After that, it's just following the instructions in the post.

in the read me there are several instructions
"This is a repack of barncastle's emulator for the 0.5.3 alpha client. To start the server simply launch MySQL from the batch file and then the worldserver itself."

I tried this, but whenever i log in using the client, it says "login server down"
Using this method, how would I even know what my username and password is?

and at the bottom of the readme theres

    Installation:
    - Extract the DBC files to a folder named "dbc" under the root directory
    - MPQEdit works for this
    - Unzip and run the SQL file in the Database.zip archive
    - Inside the App.Config file is a MySQL connection string, change this to point to your database
    - Create a shortcut to WoWClient.exe and add –uptodate to the end
    - i.e. "E:\World of Warcraft Alpha 0.5.3\WoWClient.exe" –uptodate

I moved the dbc's thats came in the repack to the root directory of my 0.5.3 client.
Tried running the database.sql using my sql workbench, and workbench just freezes and says not responding.
    theres no app.config file anywhere.
i then made a shortcut and renamed

still getting login server down. Still, how would i know what my username and password is?
