Whoa - New patch from blizz - shuts down game?!

Yup, well blizz obviously released a new patch - it quickly does the whole downloading new patch when you start the game and when its done, it closes wow and doesn't continue.

Anybody else encountering this?! :confused::confused::confused:

No, When the blizzard updater pops up i close it asap... you should do the same

You're talking about the crash, right? as soon as you start to load after picking your character? Yes, unfortunately, that's from the patch :/

well for me when I click on my wow icon - It goes to the window with 4 tabs (options, support, public test and play). Doing anything will close it. Im so bummed right now - I hope i dont need to reinstall - I did that a week ago and it takes a whole day!

i have heard that same problem before, too.... my friend was hosting his server and updated his wow and now whenever he logs on his char, wow crashes... =/

Ya I noticed bro.. omg .. I told my players dont accept the patch or they cant get on the server. A few did and sure enough they cant get in... I guess blizz is trying to take us out. But I have faith ..that our smart peeps here can figure it out ..

1. - have your players use the WoW.exe and NOT laucher.exe

2. - current patch is trash - server have already had a roll back this morning and are shut down now

currently - chrash at char select, realm select crash, and log out crash are all patch issues

hmm if 2.3 is crashing make sure you dont have custom MPQ files for model edit for example... cuz 2.3 doesn't support that anymore :-/ there is a fix though.... somewhere out there

Well, Soularis had the answer, my shortcut was opening the other launcher and that caused it to crash. Thats the same launcher i used previously for other patches but this one it wont let me... weird is all I have to day.

All is good and pleasant in wow-town for now.

I havent run my server much and hopefully wont encounter anything fishy.

Good luck on the other issues... it could be one of those dud patches they release and theres a new one in a couple days.

No it's not the patch is awesome but some private servers dont work with it and if your thinking "What the hell why would blizzard do that" I think you know they are trying to stop them. If they really want to though they could trying to merge the realmlist.wtf with wow.exe like put thier codes together then noone would really want to modify it.
