Complete noob here

Ok so I want to play WoW on some non blizzard servers and see what its all about....How do i go about doing this? I have a Macbook Pro so it is probably different from doing so on windows...If there is a topic like this already id really appreciate a link to it or any information anyone can give me. Thanks

Open your realmlist.wtf file found in your World of Warcraft folder and set the realmlist to another server's.

Ok i found the file but i dont know how to open it and what you mean by set it to another servers....

as long as you have access to the folder you installed wow into then all you ahve to do is change the relmlist.wtf file in your wow folder to do this open it with a text editor and you will c this pop up

set realmlist us.logon.worldofwarcraft.com
set patchlist us.version.worldofwarcraft.com


when loging on a server after you made the account they will normal give you the relmlist to put in in this case i will be useing mine


set realmlist us.logon.worldofwarcraft.com <----------- change this to eternal-hope.kicks-ass.net this is just an example use the one from the server you want to play on
set patchlist us.version.worldofwarcraft.com

so when ur done it should look like this

set realmlist eternal-hope.kicks-ass.net <------ being the relmlist off the server
set patchlist us.version.worldofwarcraft.com

if you have a retail/live wow account just change it back to this

set realmlist us.logon.worldofwarcraft.com
set patchlist us.version.worldofwarcraft.com

Ok i got it to open and tried doing it but even after creating an account it says the information i entered is invalid...does this work even if i have patched it to the most current version of WoW??

Takes time for the database of the server to update your account, try again in 5-10 minutes.

Ok i actually got in...thanks a lot man you rule!....NExt question is what is this hamachi everyone talks about? and how do i get the burning crusade working??

Some servers require hamachi to connect to them, as for BC if you have it installed you just select enable TBC when you create your account, if you don't then just DL it from worldofwarcraft.com.

himachi is a program use to bring people togeather to conect to the same server as for bc if you made your own server you need to have bc for one thing and then in your logonserv.conf file you would need to change
once you get your server up and runing all you have to do is change yourlogonserver .conf files where it sez
<Client MinBuild = "6739"
MaxBuild = "6898"> <--------change the red to 100000 witch will make it work with all current patches as well as upcomeing ones

if you didnt make a serve then you just have to have bc installed

IMHO Hamachi sucks, it is from China and they have all the uber viruses and stuff, never know what undetected stuff is in Hamachi. But thats just my opinion. Sorry for off-topicness

Alright through the blizzard website they wont let me download the trial or the burning crusade without having an active regular account....does anyone have a direct link to download it for a mac??

you would be better going out and buying it because it takes like a day and 1/2 to dl it from blizz
