Looking to build my own personal private 1.12.x Server

Greetings,
First off, I'm not sure if this is the right forum to place this topic so if it's in the wrong section, please forgive me.

I am looking to update/recreate my own Private server for my own personal use. I'm not looking to build my own database, just find a descent one where I can install, work in, and enjoy for my personal amusement when I am working where internet is too slow or non-existent.
I do have a current one that is very old (2006 I think) Repack called "Atarathi PRE TBC". It was fun but so so many issues 9such as no repair venders) that completely ruins my overall enjoyment.

I normally just play on other private server which my friends are on, however I am looking for something where i can enjoy for my own personal use, rather it be a decked out warrior with Scarab Lord title and gear or a Rank 14 Grand Marshal Paladin just cause I choose to.

I get the basics of setting up my own server and what not, but I'm no pro by any means. I'm just looking for something and I'm here asking the community if you guys know a good one for me to look at.
