Just because I restart my computer...

Now when I try to start up ascent/logonserver I get "Access denied for 'root@localhost'... I have about 200 registered members so I really would like to not start over from scratch.

Then you must re-install mysql. There's no other way then. I mean you could also completely shut down your computer and wait about an hour, or you could re-install. Your db may become completely erased though =/

If your using the standard MySql server, just run the config tool again and enter new info, see if that helps.

Otherwise you either accidentally closed the SQL port, or your config file got hosed. I dont recall the mySQL config file name, but im guessing if you delete it, or better yet, un/reinstall mqsql, you will be fine.

As always, check for typos in your emu config files making sure they point to the right DB, etc.

If it pointed to the wrong host it would say unable to connect to that host, not the connection.

It's wrong password... I'm guessing it's Vista but everytime my computer restarts/turns off my MySQL password resets to nothing and I have to reconfigure it.

Well I don't know about the vista thing, seeing as how I have it too, and it has happened to me, but it' not uncommon. So are you saying it just resets to nothing and you just basically don't fill out the old password field when reconfiguring it?

That's what happened before. I just restarted my computer maybe 10 minutes ago, I come back on, and when I try to login to navicat it says access denied blah blah. When I try to reconfigure it using that same password it says access denied blah blah. Now when I restarted it before some how my MySQL password changed to nothing, no password, and that's how I reconfigured it again to have a password. Now it's not letting me reconfigure it with no password and with my password I set it to.

EDIT: Okay so I just tried to reconfigure it using my old old password, and it let me. Now I'm on navi with all my old members and my old server. I'm so confused.

Oh, well I've never heard of that... Sorry I don't have a better solution other than reinstall. =/
