Making use of the ingame updater

Can't write a lot here currently but I will try to explain it then update this later.

Wow has a built in feature that auto downloads extra game content. Would it be worth the effort to get this feature working with an emulator? If so how useful do you think it would be?

Pretty sure the downloading works the same way the Blizzard Downloader file does which (from what i know) checks a files crc or md5 with a blizzard server.

lol only a tard would click on an .exe they found in their MPQ folder ah. It would be used to transfer .mpq files only. I mean if i saw something like an .exe in my enGB folder I would delete it ha

I thought it could Transfer all kind of files and/or execute it.

You could either do this, or just create a custom launcher that downloads custom MPQ's then launches warcraft while checking for an update before launching warcraft. I've only seen this on one server, and it's TBC 2.4.3. Using the custom launcher is required since it enables custom model edits and downloads the extra MPQ's while having them safe from anyone trying to peak into them . If you control that players are FORCED to use your launcher, you could control and block hacks .

I've actually enabled the AutoPatcher, it's just that I don't have a lot of use for it apart from testing. Would be useful on a high populated, custom server though.
