How to use the Ban Command on a Mangos Server?

I'm not sure how to use the .ban command on a mangos server. The description doesn't make any sense.

Syntax is: ban <account|ip|character> $NameOrIp $bantime $reason
an account or IP and kick player.
bantime: negative value leads to permban, otherwise use a timestring like "4d20h3s".

Could someone give me an example of how to use this? Yes, I have admin powers.

ban thisisthecharactersname 60 pie
Or,
ban $thisisthecaractersname $60 $pie

else... I got no clue. Just toy around with it. But this is one of the reason I never
recommend Mangos to people.

Here:

.ban account Jonas123 1d1h1s Spam

.ban - you ban (duh)
account (thats if you want to ban account/ip/character.
Jonas123 (The players account name)
1d1h1s - The time. Means: 1 day, 1 hour, and 1 second.
Spam - The Reason of banning.

It's not made for stupid people. Most of the people who are using MaNGOS got a little more knowledge about these stuff than those ascent-kids, so they have already LEARNED how to read a simple syntax.

<account|ip|character> means you can choose from account, IP and character
