Banned for CE + reading a few offsets externally?

Hi,

My account just got banned for 183 days. I have used CheatEngine to dissect a few structures and started working on reading the objectmanager externally from C#.

Is it normal to get banned for such simple things?

Used Process.NET as Memory reading library if it matters.

They can detect the handle from CE but in general reading doesn't get you banned.

Yeah, really disappointed in Blizzard. I did only read memory, never write. I created a ticket and will try to appeal, because this is ridiculous.

You violated the ToS tho. But banning for reading would be really harsh

They don't ban for reading memory or using CE, even if they do detect CE. You must've done something else to get yourself banned.

They will ban you when you have CE attached to Wow if they are bored at that moment

Though one could argue that refers to the assets, it is not that simple.

Yes they will ban you for having cheat engine attached to wow, and yes they HAVE done it before.
