Bindiff 5.x is released for IDA 7.x
I ran into errors using it. Basically during the Export of the second database the plugin thinks the database is open in another instance of IDA, which it is not.
I found the following work around.
Open the first database and use the BinExport plugin.
Open the second database and use the BinExport plugin
Create a new folder and drop both of the BinExport files in the folder.
Go to the BinDiff Folder in your program directory and then the bin folder and grab the bindiff.exe file and copy it to the folder where you put the BinExport files
open up the folder with all the files
Shift Right Click and open a power shell
type cmd to get the command line prompt
you should now have a command line window in the correct directory
Note: you do not need to put all the files in the same folder if you are good and typing in the path locations of the files, it is just easier.
enter the following command
bindiff --primary nameofprimary.BinExport --secondary nameofsecondary.BinExport --output_dir .
bindiff should run fine and save the output file in the folder with the BinExport files.
Launch IDA and open the primary idb file
run the bindiff plugin and click the load results navigate to the results file and you should be good.

It has more bugs, it does not any variable names from .data section when you use "import names and comments" after diffing
See: Importing symbols and comments not longer automatically renames variables

Does anyone know how to fix this error?
LoadLibrary(F:\Program Files\IDA 7.0\plugins\binexport1164.dll) error: The specified procedure could not be found.
F:\Program Files\IDA 7.0\plugins\binexport1164.dll: can't load file

Bindiff 6.x requires IDA 7.4 sdk
I have IDA 7.0x so I moved back to BinDiff 5.x and it works fine.
The other problem that I had with BinDiff erroring saying that the "second database is open in another instance of IDA" was due to the fact that I had my binary folders store in dropbox and drop box was trying to sync the files while the plugin was trying to access them.
This was fixed by moving the folders into an non dropbox folder.
