Greetings all!
I've recently been familiarizing myself with various applications of scripting and such
when applied to WoW. And I'm seeing all these "Info Dump" threads in this section,
they all(that I've seen) contain a link to the .idb databases. My question is this, how
are these .idb files obtained?
I ask because I tried to load a few versions of wow executable into IDA and the results
I get are VERY different from the .idb linked in these threads. More specifically, it
seems that a lot of the functions that ARE in these linked databases do not appear
when I load the executables. Is it because I'm using IDA6 as opposed to IDA5.5?
When I load the .idb from these threads I do get a message that its converting the db
from IDA5.5 format. Or am I doing something wrong that these functions aren't recognized
by IDA?
PS. I apologize if this is a completely noob question, but searching around I wasn't able
to find an answer, and simply messing around(is how I learn) with IDA haven't produced
the desired result.
