Didn't Mac come before Windows and Linux?
Why do I need a signature?
Yes, that was my mistake ..

Note, that mac osX is a unix based system, not all mac os.
Rofl those timelines are awesome.
Macs are alright.. but they just too ****ing overpriced. Never understood people buying iMacs, when you can build a PC with the same hardware for half the price. But I guess some people will buy anything with an Apple Logo on it.
I do like the mac style though. And Apoc, I remember my first time sitting in front of a mac. I grabbed the mouse, wanted to scroll dow.. WHERE THE HELL IS THE ****ING MOUSE WHEEL.
Okay, to be honest; Apple had a GUI OS before Microsoft (System). But Microsoft had honestly staked it's claim in the better of the industry, keeping it independent and give the massive support to the Development of their Operating System.
Right now I think Apple is just trying to bring the "Innovative" back and sell it off as the hip, cool, and fun flashy way of doing things because they're under and it would be near impossible to steer clear the Gamers and Developers that resign under a Windows OS.
When it comes down to it, Macs suck because of their lack of support for the Development community; They stuck around too long thinking of how they could make the Computer look sexy instead of making the computer use-able.
People don't want to use a computer to just "Do things". They want to be entertained; This doesn't mean "Making movies" or "Watching movies and listening to music", because then your computer is an overpriced piece of shit that does the same as an MP3 Player +- Television OR quite literally an iPod that cost you $1500+; But you get the apps to make cheap ass bullshit movies! Fun, I get to make crappy movies to post on a website like YouTube or on my blog where thousands of kids will bitch and moan and/or attempt to mock me!
To be entertained it has to develop, things have to be made to entertain the user; Best example would be the gaming industry. Since Mac has an epic lack of support for simple things like these, it will not develop; Since it won't develop, it will get very old very fast and die.
That's one point where Microsoft are well ahead of anyone else. Ballmer sums it up.

Steve Ballmer is so ****ing awesome, lol.
have any of you ever even used a mac before or is this "lets spout random things we heard on the internet" time?
Oh, You have no idea..
To answer, Yes; I have used countless Operating systems including multiple versions of the Mac OS up to the latest Leopard OS, But the only thing I use is Vista and Ubuntu.
Ubuntu I don't even use that much or boot to very often, but I use it when I'm laid back or sometimes I use it for running my servers and/or developing web server / website stuff.
Almost like what Apoc said, I like how the OS feels and it has an 'Airy' effect to it. But it just does not provide me with what I want from a computer in operational terms; Therefore I don't see myself touching the OS or going out of my way to use a Mac.
Now if you handed my a relatively new Mac book I would use it, to the side of my PC of course; I could see use in having it there for browsing the web and chatting, but nothing more.
