Visually identify where your bot should be running to, subclassing special ones with colors if you're that way inclined
I could also change the z-buffer on them so they show up through other objects, which might help in locating bad waypoints.

im not sure about that, but i think it works like that:
spwan some invisible objects at the waypoints and set the targettet falg
or maybe, the rings down a unit witch is displayd on the bottom of targettet mobs is a sperate gameobject and can be spawnd as is…
maybe I'm completely wrong^^
While that uses engine, I presume; I would rather use d3d and draw small 4x4 bounding boxes and possibly connecting lines to connected points.
Hint: kynox is actively reversing WoW's rendering engine.
