So I was using an auto-clicker program while playing WoW on my PC and I had set the click interval at 1 second but despite that I got banned even though I wasn't over-using it.

Is ban rate high these days or the quality of the auto clicker you are using also matters?

Any action that is multiplied a million times on the server at the same rate is a detectable pattern. This isn't anything new and likely what got you banned. The ban rate is the same it's always been.
