is it safe to use cheats on alt bnet account?

So i have an entirely different battle.net account i've been using as my "dirty" account to keep my main legit one safe but is it really safe? Have there been any known cases where cheating on one account bans every account that computer has used? I couldn't find any information on how blizz handles cheaters who have used multiple accounts and was wondering if anyone here knows?

ive heard of all accounts coming from a single IP getting nailed. Use a VPN for your dirty account.

This post also seems like it would be more appropriate for wow-general, imo (not a mod)
