Any way to play with old models?

Hi! I was wondering if there is any way to play with the old models in current day wow? They removed the old options model from the client completely.

I've heard something of exporting data from old vanilla clients, but haven't been able to find any video/guide on it?

The fact that the classic client now exists means that a process of replacing files could become possible.

Those files could be ported from that client; as Classic uses old animations and old models, but on Blizzards Unified Player Animation framework.

Although you can export textures and .m2's from the original vanilla client, the vanilla 1.12.1 .m2 format is obviously drastically different from the current formats. If you really wanted to attempt this without the classic client, I'd try to find the last version of the client that allowed for old animations (probably the last 6.x version) and export those files.
