Chances of getting banned for only AHK?

Not really sure where else to ask this.

I am having some issues with carpal tunnel syndrome as of late, and have gotten really into legion, but as someone playing a rogue there is a lot of spamming, which seems to make my problems worse. Already work and study as a software engineer so have a large amount of computer use already, and adding WoW to the mix seems to be pushing me over the brink.

If I write a AHK Script to automate some of my rotation, which from my understanding will not inject or read anything from the WoW memory, just push buttons and read the pixels (in window mode.) This is something that is likely to be undetectable by WoW and is very unlikely to get me banned, right?

using AHK to rebind keys is fine, as long as the 1 action per click rule observed.

also this was posted on the blizzard forums by a gm

Using any automation software to perform actions that would normally take multiple keystrokes would be considered a violation of our policies. The case that you're describing would definitely be one that I would avoid.

The rule to keep in mind that it should be one keypress = one action and any external macro should not be able to do anymore more than what an in-game macro can do.

Galvandy, I understand your injury makes playing a bit more challenging. I would like nothing more than to be able to give you some options to make your play time a little easier but we simply cannot support something that would be considered as automation or exploitation. It would be a very slippery slope.

I personally have a mouse with multiple buttons on the side that allow me to trigger several of my abilities that are on my action bar. So 1 - 10, primarily. If you had one of those that may help.

so I am aware that if you do more than 1 key stroke per in game per key clicked, thats thechnically a violation. I guess mainly my question here is if they would be able to detect it and would action on it?. From my understanding AHK would not feed into the Memory of WoW, just be based on pixels on the screen and then give keyboard input, so assuming warden has limited amount of access to what is going on with the computer outside of WoW, they would not be able to detect what sort of AHK script I'm running and exactly what its doing?

I have been wondering this myself also, I currently use a program to automate my rotation as i have broken my wrist, the program offers key press randomized delay, I'm hoping that maybe will keep my account safe, as i understand the program doesn't inject or write to wow memory at all, so the only way to detect this automation would in my opinion be by looking at the key press timings being fixed, so if its randomized it would seem human?

It can be detected because in real life a key is spammed instead of pressed in perfect rotation
