TEAM LOL PROUDLY PRESENTS
battle.net limiter
- install MS.NET DR 7 with `winget install Microsoft.DotNet.DesktopRuntime.7`
- download BnetLimiter.zip or BnetLimiterSource.zip and unpack to c:\BnetLimiter (or anywhere else)
- run the exe in binaries or compile the source with Visual Studio 2022 Community Edition
- fill a random username (example: "John Doe" but make sure it is unique)
- fill a password you will remember later
- add folders to hide from B.Net
- press "create shortcut or desktop" button
- quit your bnet app
- start bnet with the new shortcut (first time it will ask for the password of the limited user)
- check the "user name" column in windows task manager next to battle.net.exe
Now your bnet games can't access anything inside the hidden folders or the processes you run with your regular (administrator) windows account.
When your PC restart, it will launch bnet with your admin user, so you have to stop it and always start with the shortcut on your desktop.
This doesn't mean you can safely do shady things (like botting), because there are dozens of ways to detect those programs, even if started under a separate user account.
