Just like the succubus quest,you can start this quest in Stormwind, in the Slaughtered Lamb's basement.
Gakin has another task for you at level 30. (NOTE: This spell is NOT implemented yet. You can do the quest, but you cannot use the spell as of yet!)

Ratchet is a goblin outpost along the coast in The Barrens. There are numerous ways to reach it. The easiest way is to go through Stranglethorn, which is a 30-50 area.




How to travel from Stormwind to the Stranglethorn


- Take the Gryphon to Darkshire in Duskwood, and follow the road south to a coastal town called Booty Bay. This map is currently bugged and does not show your actual position, so just keep following the road. You will be attacked on your way there, further south it will be level 38 and higher.. its best to run and hope for the best, as corpse runs in this zone take a long time. Bring a soul stone =P.

- Once you reach Booty Bay its a good idea to talk to the gryphon master before you take off to Ratcher. You can then hop onto the boat and talk to the boatmaster to go straight to Ratchet in The Barrens.





- Once in Ratchet, go north. You can find Strahan there, talk to him for the next step. He sends you on your way again to talk to Krom Stoutarm in Ironforge. Use your hearthstone or just take the boat back to Booty Bay and take gryphons to Ironforge.
- In Ironforge, Krom is pretty close to where you land with the Gryphon, in the library.
-According to Krom you now have two items to find, one in Thousand Needles, and one by Southshores coast.
Off to Thousand Needles we go. It is south of the Barrens, two gryphon flights to get back to Booty Bay and a talk to the boat operator, and you can start the journey.



Part 1/2 : Tattered Manuscript
- From Ratchet, travel Southeast to the road, and then South to Thousand Needles.
- Once in Thousand Needles follow the road like shown on the image. Taking a shortcut isnt a good idea, the road is clear of monsters but the outlying area is crawling with them. The red dot shows the location of a centaur cave system. You will have to fight your way inside, there are centaurs outside on guard, and a few on patrol.

This is all soloable.



This is the location of the chest inside the Centaur caves. Inside it you will find the Tattered Manuscript in a chest, one of the two parts Krom wanted you to find.



Part 2/2: Moldy Tome
- This second part is in the Hillsbrad Foothills, near the coastal town of Southshore. If youve been there, you can take the gryphon to it. If not, make your way to the Wetlands and Follow the road East, and then North past Dun Modr over the bridge.

-Follow the road as shown on the image. This is another dislocated map, so ingame you wont show up in your actual location on the map.

- You are now in Hillsbrad. Following the route, you can also stop by town (Southshore) to pick up the gryphon route if you havent done so earlier. Move to the spot depicted in purple.
There are numerous Murloc camps here, so make sure you get to the exact location of the purple dot. You will have to clear the camp to get to the book. It is soloable, but can be tricky due to adds.
-Report back to Krom Stoutarm in Ironforge, he will tell you that you need to find channeling rods, as a simple summoning circle would not suffice to call forth a felhound.
-The channeling rods are dropped by Dragonmaw casters in the Wetlands. You can find them in the purple area.
- Once you have the rods, head back to Strahan in Ratchet to complete the quest.
- Defeat the Felhunter and you will receive the scroll from Strahan. Defeating the Felhunter wasnt hard, make sure to summon a pet beforehand and you shouldnt have any problems.
- Congratulations, you are now the proud owner of this.. unscribable scroll... Heres to them implementing it soon!
