The Simple Guide To Connect to a Server

Hey,
This is my Guide that is noob friendly to connect to a private server. Note this guide is split into two. Non-Hamachie or Hamachie.

Non-Hamachie

Step 1: Well first of all open up your World of Warcraft folder.
(Note : This folder is mostly found in C: DRIVE.)

Step 2: Now let find a private server.

Step 3 : Check the latest patch on there website.
(Note : If there latest patch is under 2.2.0, Don't bother going on it.)

Step 4 : By now you should have registered on server. Now you have to connect. First go back to the World of Warcraft folder and look for a file called "realmlist". Open it is opened you have a choice using "Word" or "Notepad" . Once it is opend you will find a text that looks like this.

set realmlist logon.worldofwarcraft.com

Step 5 : Adding it to the server. Now you should have realmlist open, Type in the server's REALM LIST so it should look like something like this.

set realmlist SERVER REALM LIST

It Can be ranged from
66.23.24.142
TO
******.servegame.com

Step 6 : Now save and close the file and open up World of Warcraft.
And Log in. Simple as that.

Hamachie

Step 5 : Adding it to the server. Now you should have realmlist open, Type in the server's HAMACHIE IP so it should look like something like this.

5.123.123.123

Step 6 : Now Download HamachieThen install the program and then click on the little triangle and click on join network. Type in the servers network and password and then click "OKAY".

Step 7 : Now save and close the file and open up World of Warcraft.
And Log in. Simple as that.

Tips:
Try to spell the servers realmlist and the hamachie network name, correctly.
If you are a server owner try not to use hamachie. If you do make more than 1 network you wont reach as many players because the hamachie network has a number limit of players.
If you are a person that swaps from server to server, try to make a shortcut to the realmlist on your desktop.
Always turn your virus and firewall on when you go on a private server.
Try to wait a little after making you account. Most server's have around a 5 minuet waiting period.
