Lag Switch
Hey there.
I am interested in trying out some lag switch tools, however, I am not sure how do they work. I do know what do they do, but I want to know how do they do that. If anyone has some suggestions on which Lag Switch tool to use, please leave it here. It'd be really appreciated if someone could post some kind of source code, or a template on how to do it.
Thank you!
Edit: Please move the topic if it's in the wrong place. I am kind of new to the forum.

You could try this, used it back in the day.
Lag7 Strategic Lagtool
You can also use "peerblock" to block certain ips etc if you wanna block specific stuff. Used to be able to block some specific realms to prevent crossrealm etc. in the past.

I know about the Lag7 tool, however, I can't see any kind of source code for it, or anything similar, and it detects malware so I am kind of suspicious about it honestly. Seems like a handy tool but if the source code was public, it'd be amazing. Do you have any other ideas? I've tried using the Windows Firewall rules and such things in WoW, but I just get disconnected right away, in a matter of a second. Do you have any idea how to get around that?

I don't know any open source alternatives, sorry. Maybe try and plug the ethernet cable out of your computer? ^^

Unplugging the cable does not work either. I just get disconnected right away, the exact second that I do that.

Buy a modem with a standby button.

I'd rather have a software for that. Preferably open-source one.

Or a guide on how to make a program like that.

From what I understand a lag switch floods your ports. However if you already have a somewhat sluggish internet, you can simply turn on and off a big download such as a torrent file. Alternatively there are also tools for android (idk about ios), which work on your phone and cause network lag.

I see. Do you have any kind of idea on how do they work, and how do they flood the ports? My connection is definitely not weak, so downloading a torrent file won't do anything. Please PM me if you can, and let me know about such tools if possible.
Thank you for your reply!

Torpedoes has a good explaination of how Lag7 works, just create your own tool using this.
# First time initialization
ipsec static delete all
ipsec static add policy lag
ipsec static add filterlist lag
ipsec static add filter filterlist=lag srcaddr=any dstaddr=any protocol=tcp dstport=1119
ipsec static add filter filterlist=lag srcaddr=any dstaddr=any protocol=tcp dstport=3724
ipsec static add filter filterlist=lag srcaddr=any dstaddr=any protocol=tcp dstport=4000
ipsec static add filter filterlist=lag srcaddr=any dstaddr=any protocol=tcp dstport=6112
ipsec static add filteraction lag action=block
ipsec static add rule name=lag policy=lag filterlist=lag filteraction=lag
# Called when lag enabled
ipsec static set policy lag assign=y
# Called when lag disabled
ipsec static set policy lag assign=n
# Called when Lag7 is being closed
ipsec static delete all

I am not too great of a coder or a programmer. I'd appreciate some tips, as well as a guide on how do these commands work and what do they do if possible. I did some research but I couldn't figure it out completely.
