Ascent Funserver 2.2.x Creation

Hey guys! Its ghost here and I got a lil sumthing a whipped up for yall... Its a ascent server with a funserver database... so there is a mall and obstacle coarse, ect. Sorry... no picz... BUT... lets do this...

Requirements:
1. Navicat
2. Hamachi(if you want it public)

Steps:

1. Download the file

2. Extract it to yourdesktop(or wherever you want it)

3. Install MySQL

4. Configure MySQL... Click next until you reach the part where it asks you about the password.. you choose but dont forget it ok..

5. Open Navicat

6. Click the "Connection" Button in the upper left hand corner

Connection Name: You Choose
Hostname/Ip Address: localhost (leave it)
Port: 3306 (leave it)
Username: root (leave it)
Password: Ascent

7. Now, open that connection and there should be a database called ascent.. if not, make one by right clicking the connection and clicking new database

8. Right-click the ascent database and click execute batch file

9. Find the text document that is called "database" from my repcak

10. This will take a spec of time 7-25 min depending on your computer.. so go watch tv, take a walk, go out for luch.. WHATEVER! or you can watch this and or paint dry... =)

11. When that is done you need to execute another one calle "accounts" which will only take 30sec max....

12. Open up your accounts tab located in the database and choose a name, password, then where it says gm put az... scroll all the way to the right and put 8 in the flags or you cant use Burning Crusade

13. Now, Go into your ascent folder and open up the text document called Ascent(NOT THE .EXE)

14. Whereever you see it says 127.0.0.1 change it to your hamachi IP if you want it to be public...

15. Scroll down and when you find a long list next to XP you can change it to like 5000000 if you want instant 70 and stuff like that(dont worry about mistakes... defaults are right above)

16. Close that out and save it... Open your LogonServer.conf and whereever it says 127.0.0.1 put your hamachi IP again..

17. Close that and open your realmilist.conf

18. Scroll down to the bottom and Change the following:

<Realm1 Name = "Ghost's Repack"
Address = "127.0.0.1:8129" Hamachi IP(or keep it if non public)
Icon = "PVP" If you dont want PVP change it
Colour = "1"
Population = "1.0" 0 is small 1 is medium 2 is large
TimeZone = "1">

19. Close that and save it.. Open your realmlist in your WoW Folder... Change that to 127.0.0.1 OR if you change the other stuff to your hamachi IP then your hamachi IP

20. Load up MySQL, type in your password, load up Navicat, click on the connection to start it, double click the Ascent and Logonserver EXE's and your GOOD2GO!

XTRA: You need to go into Logonserver.conf, scroll to bottom and find max build and minbuild and change them to this

MinBuild Client: 1
MaxBuild Client: 8000

I got some problems at 20.
Maybe I just misread it or something, but how do you start up MySQL without Navicat?
What I have tried so far is to open navicat 8 for MySQL, and then opened the connections,
and activated the databases, then I run the Ascent.exe.
Everything is working until it tries to connect with the database, but there it says:

"Connecting to MySQL on localhost with <root : *********>
sql: Connection failed. Reason was access denied for user root@localhost <using password:YES> sql:Main database initialization failed. exiting."

Edit: woops, forgot to mention that I failed to do nr. 6 right I think. I typed the info you wrote, but got the access denied error.
Therefore I made my own and uploaded the database to it. I personally don't think that this could have any negative effect...


If you have any clue what I did wrong I'd gladly accept a little help.

What you need to do is make sure that you start MySQL up first.. it will says "Enter Password Please:" type in the one you made during configuration and then a bunch of crap will come up, minimize that, without that your server is bound to crash... thats the foundation... you open that first... hopefully that helps

Hehe, thank you for reply, but the problem is really how to start up MySQL.
Is there any .exe file connected to the program? I feel like a noob asking these questions.

Ok, when you install it if you hit Start it will say "A new prgram has been installed" click the arrow and youll see "MySQL" go over it and you will see somthing that says "MySQL Command Client" thats it buddy =) hope it works.. or you can search MySQL Command Client..

And you dont see +rep coz you have no rep power =)

Ahh, I see. Thank you very much for your help, altho the error message keeps turning up.
Just made a discovery. In the command line of MySQL, after the password and stuff. I typed \r and then it said
connection id: 24
current database: ***NONE***

Hey bro..when I did sql execute, all was fine except for there wasnt any account sql. looked in the ghost folder did not see the account sql . I did see one called charecters.sql, I like to play around with stuff so made the account sql from charecters. changed the name. Server starts and all . np just when I create account as soon as I hit enter discons me right away. Anyways ... if anyone has comments lemme know .. and none of that blasting crap.. =] im excited and ready to have fun ... lemme know......

Hey I Love the guide but could you help me?

Ive done everythig And loaded up The 2 .exe's But it says 0 Accounts Loaded? Do You Think You Could Help Me? If Not Could You Control My PC through Remote Assistant (MSN) And Help That Way?



:Edit: But I Can Log Into My Account On WoW.exe And It Comes Up With "the info you have entered is invalid" so i know it works. i just need you to help me fix "0 accounts loaded"
